How We Started
We started in 2019 as a small foundation in Calgary Alberta trying to make a difference in the lives of others. We started with a few hiccups, but after a very strong learning year we were able to really grow our mission, and become much more effective.

….we are dedicated to the growth and development of our youth. We have decided that the biggest impact we can have on the development of our future, is to provide sufficient technology for families that might not have the means to obtain access themselves. Over our first 2 years we have grown tremendously in this area. Our partnerships and local communities have been nothing but amazing for our growth, and continue to help accomplish our mission.
The pandemic changed much for millions of families. For some, access to technology for developmental and education purposes has become extremely challenging. About 40% of the public have little to, or no access to technology outside of their school’s shared electronics. This severely inhibits a child’s ability to learn crucial skills that can aid them in our ever changing world of the ‘Online 21st Century’. We have pledged to support these families when it comes to obtaining the electronics vital to learning
If we work together, there is no limit to what we can accomplish.
Studies find that 3 in 10 Canadian families do not have access to online classes at home (source). In the technological age we live in now, the ability to stay connected with online resources remains crucial to developing minds.

After submitting a free, confidential application, Step Up 4 Kids provides approved families with a laptop worth up to $1,000, warranty and carrying case included. There is absolutely no application cost or any other fees for our families applying.
